I normally wait to paint till Saturday. Reason being I prefer to do it in normal daylight as the colours seem all to cock when I paint at night in artificial light then se it in daylight. BUT I am doing a painting of my cousin's daughter and decided to do an underpainting in grey-greens and will layer on top to get nice flesh tones (not tried this before but is a real old teqnique) I have done an underpainting before (see horses) but not a green one. ANYWAY, I figured I am doing a monochrome painting so the colour problem with the light is not such an issue so I start painting at 9pm tonight (daft I know) but just finished now and have gotten loads done and I am really pleased with how it is looking already. Role on tomorrow when I will do the eyes.
